Extensive listening

Extensive listening consists in listening to many short texts, for general comprehension and with the aim of developing fluency. The basic assumption is that the more you listen, the easier listening will be for you. For this semester, we will focus on news reports as the main source for extensive listening.

Instructions

1. First, select a newsreport from the Internet. You may check any of the links on the right pannel section in the news or find your own website or channel.  I recommend that you varied your sources often and do not just listen to one source. The length of the selected videos should be, at least, longer than a minute with no maximum length.
2. Then complete the form below. The form consists of three parts: one in which you give some general information about the video; a second part in which you will find questions for general comprehension; and a final part in which you describe and rate you experience working with the video.
3. There will be no right or wrong answers and no traditional correction in any of the sections of the form.
4. You will repeat this procedure at least twice a week, each week from March 2nd to May 22nd.
